Kim Eun-Hee

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of aerobics exercise on visceral fat . Subjects was compo- sed of fourteen obese middle-school students girls. aerobics exercise was performed 40 minutes per day, 4 days per week of 60¢¦70 %HRmax during 20 weeks. The items for abdominal fat volume were subcutaneous fat volume (SFV), visceral fat volume(VFV), VFV/SFV and femoral fat by CT(computed tomography). Paired t-test was used to evaluate the difference of pre and post 20 weeks aerobics exercise. The 0.05 level of significance was as critical level for the study. The reasults of this study were as follow; 1)Body weight(kg), %fat(%) were significantly decreased and O2max(ml/min) was significantly increased in aerobics exercise group. 2)Total cholesterol, Triglyceride, LDL-C, Free Fatty acid was significantly decreased and HDL-C were signifi- cantly increased in aerobics group. 3) SFV, VFV and VFV/SFV were significantly decreased in aerobics exercise group. In conclusion, visceral fat was was decreased in aerobics exercise. So it is maybe thought that long-term areobics exercise improve body composition for obesity treatment.
